With more over-priced, impractical designer takes on the carrier than you can shake a stick at, nice to stumble across something that has been designed with function in mind. Using the hi-spec cycle pack as a starting point, The Mountain X Backpack, made up of thick waterproof silver canvas from German manufacturer Ortlieb, features plenty of internal and external pockets, well padded straps, a waist belt for added stability, padded back-piece and Tizip waterproof zippers. The more streamlined Velocity Pack combines PVC and canvas, once again from Ortlieb, waterproof, back padding with roll-top closure – a more standard, unfussy style in all black.
