The reason we decide to introduce him in our 5election, is because since the begining we decided to 5elect and  insert in this website the best of all. And talking about fashion, this category must contain the name and history of this talented Croatian guy. Damir Doma  was born in Virovitica ( Croatia ) but grew up in southern Germany near the lake Chiemsee where his mother has a clothing atelier. He calls his mother an influential person in his own development. Doma studied fashion in Munich and Berlin. He graduated in 2004 with Magna Cum Laude from the l’Ecole Supérieure des Arts et techniques de la Mode fashion school in Munich and Berlin.

After his graduation Damir Doma moved to Belgian Fashion Capital Antwerp where he gained experience within the group of designers Dirk Schönberger and later Raf Simons. In 2006, after meeting Stephan Wembacher, the CEO of the international fashion group Paper Rain, Damir Doma joined the group and a label bearing his own name was launched in the same year.

He debuted his Menswear collection for the Spring Summer 2008 season at the Paris Fashion Week in June 2007. Doma’s style has been described as ‘intellectual’ and ‘poetic’. Damir cites Issey Miyake as an important influence on his work. International celebrities such as Rosario Dawson, Lenny Kravitz, Bruce Springsteen, Jared Leto and Robert Pattinson are amongst the labels customers. According to the Berlin based high-fashion Magazine, Achtung-Mode, Damir Doma is ‘considered as the most important German fashion designer of his generation’.

In 2009, the first Damir Doma Store opened in a hidden street in the Parisian art and fashion district Marais. The first Damir Doma women’s collection was presented during Paris Fashion Week on September 2010. At the women’s prét-à-porter Fall Winter 2011 show Nicole Phelps of Style.com noted that: “Doma’s aesthetic is a minimal one; he prefers a clean, uncluttered silhouette”. Damir Doma is an official member of the Fédération française de la couture.

In 2009, Damir Doma launched his first fragrance in a limited edition of 2000 bottles in collaboration with the New York based Six Scents Perfumes, with proceeds from sales going to environmental charity Pro-Natura. He was selected as a finalist in the prestigious Swiss Textile Award for 2010, where he showed both mens and womenswear silhouettes in an exclusive parade in Zurich. In 2011, Damir Doma was invited by Vogue Paris to be a part of the Petit Salon des Jeunes Createurs at the Hotel Crillon in Paris.

His designs were installed in an exhibition by the acclaimed interior designer Vincent Darré of the Maison Darré in Paris, and fêted in a cocktail party by the fashion magazine.
