For those of you who don’t favor the drink, then you haven’t had a good one yet. There are many good recipes, including this twist on the traditional vodka base that we found over at Thebeeroness blog. Apparently a Bloody Mary tastes better with beer; who would have thought? We’re currently in the process of finding that out for ourselves, but until the verdict, try for yourself. First, start with a good IPA. This is absolutely essential, no questions asked. Get a good one too, something heady and hoppy. This recipe uses the Stone Brewery Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA.
1 cup tomato juice
1 cup IPA beer
1/2 tsp celery salt (plus additional for glass rims)
1/2 tsp sriracha
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp brine for a jar of spanish olive
1/4 tsp cream style horseradish
1 tbs lime juice (about 1 medium lime)
1 tsp lemon juice (about 1/2 medium lemon)
1/2 tsp black pepper
Ice – Shake well and enjoy. God that thing looks good.
