Olivia Bee is an 18 year old photographer based in Portland, Oregon and Baltimore, Maryland (for now, for sometimes). “I strive to capture the ordinary, in an extraordinary way. Life is beautiful, perfect, and cinematic, if you look at the right moments. It’s not always an accurate summary of life in general, but it is those specific moments that make it worth living anyway.” Olivia started photographing her friends and family when she was only 11 years old. As a visual diary of sorts, her work captures the saturated drama of being a teenager, where every heartbeat pulses that much harder and every transgression feels electric. Her photography has been featured in many Magazines and in Convers advertisements, but still maintains its dreamlike quality. The images capture innocence lost and found, and they are strongly reminiscent of Ryan McGinley’s work.
