One of the focal points of the large pavilion constructed by of SABIC Innovative Polymers (formerly GE Plastics) is the QarmaQ (I’m guessing that’s pronounced “carmack”) Advanced Technology Demonstration Vehicle.
Originally introduced at the LA Auto Show, this concept vehicle, which was co-developed with Hyundai Motor Company, incorporates next-generation composites and thermoplastics from SABIC IP’s massive product portfolio (like Lexan, Xenoy and Valox) throughout the vehicle to reduce weight and greenhouse gas emissions. Apparently it just won the 2009 Green Dot Award in Transportation for these green innovations.
