BlackStation is the pseudonymous of a young Chinese photographer and graphic designer. Born in 1978 in Jiang Su (eastern China), he graduated in 2001 from Donghua University. Through the eye of his camera he is able to see his world in an uncommon way, to avoid the triviality of often-abused subjects and to show them as brand new. He lives and works in Shanghai, and his town is one of the main subjects in his work: the metropolis and its dynamic energy often return in his photography, as well as the seduction of its landscapes, its magical lights and skies. His ability to catch a new point of view, an unusual interpretation of the subject is nevertheless detectable even when he addresses other subjects, still life or natural landscapes: his shots are intriguing and never banal: he really knows how to tell a story.
