The opening song of “Vol. 3” by Hippie Sabotage had an intriguing title to me, which is “The One Who Knocks”… I recognized this as a line from Breaking Bad. Sure enough halfway through the fuzzy Dubstep Hip Hop of the song, we can hear Walter White explaining to his wife just who she’s dealing with, more sound clips of the show are used later in the song as well. The second song (entitled:’On The Run’) sounds as epic in nature as a spaghetti western soundtrack by Ennio Morricone. The beats on “Vol. 3” are usually pretty gripping, samples and little audio clips are used heavily, such as in “Next Generation” which makes “We Are Young” by “Fun.” sound like it’s on cough syrup. Overall “Vol. 3” by Hippie Sabotage is a cool experimental Hip Hop album that’s not afraid to take some abrasive risks, and it’s available at their Bandcamp page at the link bellow.
