Cykelfabrikken was born in 2009 in Copenhagen with the aim to produce a Danish high quality bike, with the typical Scandinavian approach to aesthetics – simplicity and classic cool, with focus on high quality. Simple in their concept and design, a plain expression of unsophisticated functionality, their bikes are assembled from a selection of versatile men’s and ladies’ frames, ergonomic handlebars and saddles put together in a myriad of beautiful combinations. In their philosophy, quality is also what the eye cannot clearly see: a two-layer paint, a strong bottom bracket, stainless steel handlebars, saddle and stems. Even something just as simple as a proper rim. In order to spread this idea of bike, they also begun a series of collaborations with brands characterized by the same highly aesthetic approach: Cykelfabrikken collaborated with another Danish company, Won Hundred, to create a limited edition customized bike equipped with a collection of three handcrafted leather bags – you can get the whole set, bike and bags, at selected stores in Copenhagen, London and New York, and online at Peder and Stoffe (see the link below); more recently, at 2012 Copenhagen Fashion Week, has been presented a bike customized for the sneak peak on Cottonfield new Spring collection.
