Faraday Bicycles™ is a new company dedicated to revolutionary bicycle innovation and design. We are engineers, designers, and industry veterans who passionately believe that better bikes make a better world. Bicycles trim our waistlines, brighten our commutes, help make our cities cleaner and more vibrant, and bring a smile to our faces. So we’ve designed this bike with one simple goal: Give more people more to smile about. Great design makes all the difference. At Faraday Bicycles, design is about much more than just appearance – it’s about the entire rider experience. Despite its extraordinary capabilities (it’s electric!), we designed the Faraday Porteur to look and ride just like a familiar, high-quality bicycle. The Faraday Porteur looks and feels like a premium city bike, but it performs in a class of its own. Most importantly, the Faraday lets you work as much, or as little, as you want. Want to get there without breaking a sweat? No problem.
Want to break a sweat AND break your record time? You can do that too. Faraday goes where you go, no matter what your mood or what your destination. Thanks to lithium batteries that are cleverly hidden inside the frame, it looks like a traditional everyday rider, with only an on/off switch and an e-ink battery readout to belie its true nature — pedal, and it will automatically match your power, and when you’re wanting to exert less effort, hit the boost button for a little extra help.
Other features include LED headlights and taillights that are built into the frame and controlled by an ambient light sensor, and a large front rack that can hold 30 pound loads — or more than enough to carry your dinner and beers from the grocery store to your home. Inspired by the classic European delivery bikes of the 1940’s and 50’s and updated with state-of-the-art components and construction techniques, the award-winning Faraday Porteur allows novice and experienced riders alike to go farther, faster, with ease.
It’s impossible to tell it’s electric until you ride it – and then it’s impossible to imagine riding anything else. Faraday Bicycles began as an award-winning concept created by a team from the design firm IDEO for the Oregon Manifest bicycle design contest. The leader of that original effort, Adam Vollmer, has since left IDEO to launch Faraday Bicycles.
In addition to our core team, below, Faraday is fortunate to be able to draw upon a talented and passionate group of designers and advisers to help create this exciting new bike, brand, and business. For more information or to buy this bike we invite you to follow the link below.
