Designers have created a special pedal that doubles as a bike lock to help deter thieves looking for a steal and a quick getaway. Bike users often have to keep an eye out for professional bike thieves who would simply cut their bike locks regardless of the model or complexity. Pedal Lock is not only a special bicycle lock but also a bicycle pedal. It can prevent thieves from stealing the bike by breaking the lock. If the lock has been damaged, the pedals are out of working at the same time and cannot be rode.
To address this theft, designers Feng Cheng-Tsung and Cheng Yu-Ting have created Pedal Lock, a unique bike lock system that essentially turns its own pedal into a wheel lock. Pedalock is specifically designed such that to steal the bike equipped with it would mean having to break the pedal, rendering it unusable for the thief.
