The viral YouTube video, ‘KONY 2012’, targeted at Ugandan guerrilla leader Joseph Rao Kony, has amassed over 73 million views in just seven days. The 29-minute video was created as a film and campaign by non-profit group Invisible Children. It aims to make the Kony famous, “not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice”. According to the video, Kony is wanted by the International Criminal Court and has been accused for offenses, such as mass kidnapping, murder and sexual abuse.
The video has already got the support of celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna, Ryan Seacrest and Justin Bieber. But first who is Kony? Joseph Rao Kony was born on 1961 in Odek, Uganda, he is Ugandan guerrilla group leader, head of the “Lord’s Resistance Army” (LRA) their group have abducted and forced children to fight for them. Can you imagine the life in Uganda, they keep on hiding and running from these rebel because once they have taken the parents cant see those children again either they became rebel, died, rape or massacre.
Kony is the worst criminal ever lived on Earth he was a horrible nightmare of every people in Uganda. It is not right that we all enjoy freedom, all the necessity in the world while people there are keep on running for their life. They are poor, no food to eat and have no choice once they have abducted.
