Dr. Raffaella Gregoris (an Italian researcher specialised in skincare chemistry ) together with her business partner Francesca Di Lenardo, (an expert in marketing and communication) create BAKEL sparked by a simple but innovative idea: to formulate a range of anti-ageing skincare products that would contain only those substances that are able to bring realistic, clinically proven, benefits to the skin. Specifically, there would therefore be absolutely NO preservatives, NO emulsions, NO colourants, NO perfumes, nor would there be ANY derivatives of petroleum.
Only active ingredients, chosen from the finest pharmaceutical-grade. As simple as this sounds, it had never been done before. Using as scientifical consultants also Dr. Piercamillo Parodi; Dr. Sebastian Laspina and Dr. Manuela Sallustio from University Of Udine, Raffaella Gregoris is working to find out the best formulas and cosmoceuticals using this philosophy.
Francesca’s role was be to ensure that the company’s communication became an expression of the BAKEL mission: the brand would distinguish itself with a technological, refined and clean image.
From this approach came the unique BAKEL claim: ZERO useless substances, 100% active ingredients. Giving up all that is superfluous represents an absolute novelty, a paradigm shift that truly distances BAKEL from traditional skincare: what is applied to the skin is, in fact, only and completely the active ingredients, nothing else.

BAKEL do not use any type of preservatives, for this reason every product under goes the “challenge test” to guarantee the products. BAKEL Suncare anti-age line has been created to protect, bronze and repair sun exposure damage. These SUNCARE products used before, during and after sun exposure assure a healthy, rapid, intense and luminous tan.
All advanced systems of BAKEL solar UVA/UVB filters assure the protection declared in the SPF. Bakel’s SPF have been scientifically tested through tests which are recognized at EU level (Colipa) and meet also the USA guideline for the BROAD SPECTRUM certification.
From BAKEL’s experience a new line for children, has been born too. The name is BABYKEL This baby cosmetics line is the natural evolution of the BAKEL’s formulation concept. New born babies and children’s skin is more delicate than that of adults and for this reason it is more exposed to risks.
