iapo (Italy, born 1964) is an Italian architect. After completing his studies in Venice at the IUAV, he has always combined professional activity with his passion for drawing. His grafic work concentrates mainly on stylized undressed men, meaning to rapresent an idealized and simplified manhood, without any care for a sorrounding context. All the focus is on the body shape, on legs, arms, chests, deformed and sized in a non-naturalistic and symbolic representation. Diapo’s puppets, as he calls them, usually come to life as sketchs, non intentional small drawings made while at the phone or thinking about a project; they are later scanned and digitally elaborated, so to improve their potentiality and remove any disturbing element. You can hardly find any trace of his work online, so we are glad to present here a small selection of his drawings.
