FALX AIR

Falx Air Ltd  ( based in North Staffordshire UK )  is one of the worlds first companies to realise the potential of hybrid electric aircraft propulsion. During the past 9 years members of our team have worked on multiple systems to aid the integration of hybrid power to multiple platform types including fixed wing aircraft, rotary wing aircraft, airships and unmanned air vehicles across the globe. These revolutionary aircraft designs have the potential to make a significant impact on the Personal Air Vehicle (PAV) and rapidly growing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) industry. Falx Air Ltd, based in Staffordshire, UK, is the birthplace of these highly-manoeuvrable, unmanned and manned aircraft designs that makes the joy of flight both cost effective and available to a mass market The Falx Air Ltd designs are unique with characteristics that make them the ideal platforms for a variety of commercial and government applications, including aerial photography, surveillance, scientific and research missions, search and rescue operations, police work, ranching and livestock monitoring, crop inspection, forestry studies, resource exploration, advertising, sports photography, and much more.
Falx Air has concentrated on Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL) platforms for over nine years, this has led to many different approaches to platform design and control. They have travelled to multiple companies across the world who are developing new technology that will ensure the best solutions for each technical area are combined into a single, scalable and flexible platform. Now, using the Falx Air proprietary platform design and control system, a full flight ready platform will be produced. Introduced within the build plan will be a new hybrid power generation package being investigated by Falx Air, allowing the vehicle increased endurance with minimal fuel consumption. They established industrial links with the very latest battery technology, fuel cell systems and electric motor manufacturers to enable us to developed advanced aircraft designs.
During the past eight years, members of the team have worked in the USA and Europe on advanced aviation projects, which are both public and privately known. Their experience and serviceis in  Advanced Design & Test Propulsion. Their design work focuses on new and improved areas of propulsion that increase performance while lowering fuel consumption. A lot of experience in ducted fan units, helicopter propulsion, shrouded propeller systems, electric propulsion, battery management units, drive train design,  performance enhancement, variable pitch propeller systems and counter-rotating propellers. Hybrid electric aircraft propulsion is our main area of expertise. Not only  a vast knowledge of propulsion systems & power plants, but  also specialised in unique airframe design and concept platforms. The team have worked on several unique airframes based around tilt-wing, tilt-duct and rotary wing configurations. By using local specialist consultants they can offer support in all major areas of aircraft design, test and build along with support for current projects.
