With no published LP, no tracks available in internet, still no professional manager, the Udine based group CAMERAMIA, born in 2006, is a completely virgin novelty in the Italian musical world. Their “Avant/Rétro Folk Pop” is an original mix that remembers somehow Antony’s (from Antony and the Johnsons) resonances mixed with Bjork’s vocal virtuosities, and represents an amusing surprise in the north east area, geographically and culturally far from main show-business centers in Italy. Nowadays, the group is composed by Silvia di Natale (voice), Giulia Qualizza (piano), Lucia Violetta (violin) and Luca (drums). Listening to their music, you are immediately attracted by the originality of their composition, as much as you are involved by the facility and the pleasure they play. Surprising, this doesn’t conflict whit the extreme refinement of the music and, mainly, of the lyrics, clearly born in an intellectual, university circle. On the stage, they experiment the usage of theatrical tools (bird masks, camouflages) and gestures, to empathize the musical atmosphere; you could say they still have to improve this part of the performance, but they are young, and of course they like to play.
During his short life, the group has seen many different players orbiting Silvia’s vocal centre, but probably a more organic and complete orchestra could give her the occasion to better develop her potentials; the same way, a good music manager and a good sponsor could make the difference. So we invite music managers & producers as well as fashion designers to pay attention on this emerging group! As mentioned before CAMERAMIA have no managers so the way to get in touch with them is simply: mail to camera.mia@gmail.com or call Giulia Qualizza +39-3208316236 or Silvia di Natale at +39-3332407787. Here below is a cover of their “promo” CD that you can request any time directly. To leasten some samples of their beautiful music just try to make a research in the web or visit www.myspace.com/incameramia.
