or decades, hundreds and thousands of people across the globe have had to rely on wheelchairs due to their inability to walk, either due to some unfortunate accident or because of some disease or some underlying condition. Though, these contraptions seem a bit crude, yet for the disabled, they prove to be of immense significance, as they provide them with a vital luxury called, ‘mobility’, somewhat of a freedom to move about the house, or go the super market for their every day grocery shopping, among other activities. However, operating a wheelchair, though it may seem to be a bit easy, but from personal experience, it’s quite harder than it seems. Now, it seems the efforts required to operate a manual wheelchair and the resulting fatigue could soon be thing of the past as designer, Ju Hyun Lee, has now come up with an all new concept called, NEWS. The New Electric Wheelchairs is a basically a sort of an add on for the wheelchairs, that instantly turn conventional wheelchairs into motorized ones, thereby reducing a lot of stress off the occupants. This incredible new device comes with a joystick to maneuver the wheelchair and sub grips to provide the occupants with enhanced control of the wheelchair. The NEWS can be recharged via a conventional power outlet and fits comfortably on any wheelchair.
