For the first time, the authority on color has announced two colors of the year for 2016. They are Rose Quartz and Serenity. Both colors were on the list of most fashionable colors that PANTONE announced in September. According to PANTONE, Rose Quartz is a “persuasive yet gentle tone” that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity, on the other hand, is “weightless and airy”, evoking feelings of respite and relaxation, like an expanse of blue sky. According to Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, Rose Quartz and Serenity combine to showcase an “inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue”, which reflects connection, wellness and a soothing sense of peace and order.
