TANG CHIEW LING’S LITTLE LEAF WORLD

leaf4

Leaves; they’re all around us. Even deep in the city, you can find them on lone trees poking through the asphalt, or a potted plant outside a store. One Malaysian artist has found a way to incorporate the everyday, often-ignored leaf into his work in a creative way. These whimsical pieces were put together by graphic designer Tang Chiew Ling. Each features a hand-drawn silhouette accented by leaves and tiny branches which become a tree, a boat, balloons or bubbles floating away off the page. Since all you need is a sheet of paper, a black felt pen, some glue, and of course some leaves, this is a great low-budget way to express your creativity. Why not give it a try next time you have some free time? We’d love to see any creations you come up with.
