Virginia Elwood is one of the premier tattooers currently working in New York City. Her work on skin and paper has been prominently featured in a number of tattoo art-related publications and projects. Raking Light Projects invited her to create a work of art that was personally inspiring and interesting to her, independent of tattooing. I think we got lucky (right place/right time) and provided the space and freedom to create something personal and meaningful to her.
