Is Experimental Electronic Future-Folk. I know that genre synopsis may seem like a mouthful, but this record is an equal earful! The opening track starts off with a voice over promising the secret to happiness, electronic synapses bounce all around, the female vocals are high and icy, suddenly acoustic instruments take the forefront of the sound and things get really interesting. Songs draw the line between noise experimentation and traditional song structures.
Noises sometimes thunk in and out and hold beats, acoustic guitars pick out melodies, vocals become multilayered and fire in and out of separate speakers. While the sound can be challenging it’s intriguing, and at times the vocals give the experimental songs a more endearing quality just by the inherit sweetness of their nature. “Hard Magic” by Rotem Or is a very worthwhile and unique album experience, and it’s available at their Bandcamp page at the link bellow the video.
